Job Description:
Job Summary:
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities at the City Pool. Responsible for hiring and supervising lifeguards, purchasing supplies, and managing time sheets and work schedules.
Essential Functions:
- Provide direction to lifeguards.
- Possess CPR Certificate.
- Supervise personnel in the facilitation of all programs.
- Enforce and administer the Rules and Regulations of the City Pool.
- Manage and budget revenues and expenditures.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate the work of the City pool employees.
Basic Functions:
- Hire lifeguards.
- Facilitate the Red Cross Certification courses for potential employees.
- Deal effectively and courteously with the public.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Public Health Regulations.
- Knowledge of Red Cross Regulations.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.

- Ability to perform water safety and lifesaving techniques.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:
Education, Experience, and Certification:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid TX Driver’s License or available alternate means of transportation.
- Must possess current certificates for Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional, and First Aid for the Professional.
- Must have served as an Assistant Pool Manager for at least one year.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background investigation.
Physical Requirements:
- Working conditions are primarily outside with frequent exposure to inclement weather.
- Ability to move about an office or building and attend various functions and meetings at other sites either within or outside the City.
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to operate a computer, telephone, and related equipment.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
