Police Patrol Division

Patrol Division
The uniformed patrol division in the largest division in the police department and has officers on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The patrol division is under the direction of a patrol Lieutenant and is comprised of four shifts supervised by a Sergeant for each shift in addition to patrol officers.

The primary purpose of the patrol division is the protection of life and property and the promotion of the safety and welfare of the public. Officers enforce city, state, and federal laws in order to achieve the division's stated purpose. Officers patrol the City's streets to enforce traffic laws, deter crime, watch for suspicious activity, and take appropriate action when required.
