Campaign Finance Reports for Current and Former Officeholders and Canidates

When a candidate decides to run for a place on the City Council, they are required by the Texas Ethics Commission to appoint a Campaign Treasurer and report revenue and expenditures at certain times throughout the campaign or for as long as they keep their account open.

Local filers who must file with a Local Authority (City of Beeville / City Secretary’s Office) include those running for and/or holding an office that support or oppose any of these candidate/officeholders or that support or oppose a measure in a local election.

In compliance with H.B. 2626 passed during the 88th Legislature and effective September 1, 2023, the reports must be made available to the public from the City’s website for five (5) years from the date of filing.  The redactions on the reports are in compliance with the bill specifications and are only received by the Local Filing Authority. Any questions or complaints related to the content in the reports or the failure to submit reports should be directed to the Texas Ethics Commission who is the regulatory authority for campaign finance reports.
